...the presentation [of the meal] and the content of each dish were superb. With the main meal every vegetable seemed to have its own little presentation, whether it was a mini cauliflower cheese or the beans wrapped in bacon. Your chef must have taken a lot of trouble and the result was out of this world. Please pass on to him the compliments, not only from me, but also from many of the guests who were impressed by the attention to detail.

Whoever set out the tables had taken care to make it all look splendid...

My own gratitude to you is beyond words. By the end of the evening I had received so many compliments on having organised such a good event that I felt proud and pleased, but also a little guilty because in fact you did all the hard work and guided me where I hadn't a clue, so please be assured that all the compliments I received are passed on to you in triplicate.

"I feel compelled to write a letter of thanks to all your staff who contributed to an excellent conference (15-16 June 2007). I can appreciate it was very much a team effort but some of your team excelled beyond this. When we first contacted the RICC...we were met by Nicky Harding who guided us through our initial questions. After that it was passed onto Laura Cleary who was at our beck and call throughout. It was refreshing to see somebody who was very dedicated and professional to ensure that every detail of the conference programme was met. Simon Jolly and Laura worked long hours to ensure that the Annual RNA Conference was a huge success, so much so that branches throughout the UK and headquarters wrote to say that it was the best conference for years.   Terry Membery. " I stayed three nights in Torquay at a satisfactory B&B found on your (Conference Torquay) website and would like to add the following: I travelled by train from London: very satisfactory and the scenery from Exeter of course superb. The RICC provided a meal for the workers late on Thursday when no-one else was around. Everyone commented very favourably on the banquet provided by the RICC and indeed the general facilities. It is certainly one of the best places we have found for our kind of show and I hope regional, local or specialist philatelic societies will consider Torbay as a result of their members' experience with us in November".   MP Brindle General Secretary

We greatly appreciated and valued the assistance willingly given by all the Centre staff both seen and unseen who worked so hard during the Championship. The happy atmosphere within the Centre was in no small part due to the expertise and teamwork show by all concerned. But the Centre's contribution was much wider than this. It was a treat to deal with professionals who could be relied on both to help hammer out solutions to any problems and to carry out their commitments cheerfully and effectively.

We found it extremely beneficial that the Conference Torquay Delegate Accommodation Booking Service took on the management of the delegate's accommodation bookings for our Conference, Royal College of Midwives 2006 which was held 9-12 May in Torquay. We did not receive any queries or complaints from the delegates which is testament to how successful the whole process was handled. If we bring a conference to Torquay in the future I will without doubt use Conference Torquay to handle the accommodation bookings for delegates.

New venues always present different challenges even to those of us who have been invlolved in conferences for a while.  I was confident the RICC would provide a good service for us and they didn't let us down. We may have tested the resources of the Centre but everyone was wonderful and rose to the challenge. In particular I would like to thank Nicky Harding for her hard work prior to the conference and for her efficient management of the delegate hotel bookings.

Rotary Conferences are held each year and they are all different, but this year we had a party; well, the party is over, but what a party we had! The staff at the Riviera International Conference Centre (RICC) were all so helpful, friendly and welcoming, particulary during the conference weekend, so many delegates have made comment on their very positive attitude. Then of course, what can I say, a Chief Executive looking after us with such great detail and ensuring, down to the last small details, that things would be right.

May I say a huge ‘thank-you’ to you, and all the staff at RICC (including Barry), for the excellent service we received in planning and staging our conference last weekend. It was a great pleasure working with Maria through the planning stages, and I always felt that we were being looked after, without fuss, even when the stress levels were rising!

A lot of people have commented on how good the venue was, and how polite and cheerful the staff were.

There was also excellent feedback on the catering. The cash catering was good quality and good value. People were very impressed with the Gala Dinner. These things are usually about enduring a rubber chicken breast and a couple of carrot batons; this time, people were saying how lovely the food was, and that there was so much they were struggling to finish it! Our compliments to your chef.

As I mentioned to Maria, we won’t be back immediately, as we have to move this event round the country. But you can be quite sure that we will return as soon as possible, and in the meantime, you are widely acknowledged as having been a key element in making this the best conference we’ve had, by some distance.
