We love our Geopark!
Please view our short film about our English Riviera Geopark, which we are sending you as part of a town wide initiative to get as many people to view it as we possibly can.
Our short film "We love our Geopark", traces the story of geology in this area: the formation of the planet 4.6 billion years ago; how our rocks have driven and guided the jobs we do; and our relationship with our natural local environment.
The stunning natural heritage of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham takes a starring role which is aimed at educating and building awareness of UNESCO's first Urban Global Geopark.
It is a approximately 7 minutes long, has stunning animation and photographic footage and is beautifully narrated by talented 10 year old, Millie Day, of the Torbay Acting Factory. We hope you enjoy it, thank you!

About "We Love our Geopark"
We love our Geopark is a short film commissioned by Torbay's Culture and Environment Partnership. It was 8 months in the making and showcases the English Riviera Geopark at its very best. Directed and animated by Bex Glover at Seven Studios and shot by Local South Devon College student Jonathan Palfrey, the film combines animation and live action with impressive results.
The film was premiered on February 12th this year underground at Torquay's Kents's Cavern Prehistoric Showcaves, one of the English Riviera's three Geopark visitor centres.
At last weekends's Glastonbury Festival the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Creative Programming team selected the "We Love our Geopark" film to appear on the Village Screen, in the heart of the festival ground, within a section of the programme called "Hug the Planet".
Patron of the English Riviera Geopark, BBC's Dr Iain Stewart said:
"If a picture is worth a thousand words then a film must be worth a million, especially if the subject matter is as photogenic as the English Riviera Geopark. This film is the perfect vehicle for introducing people to the outstanding natural heritage of the English Riviera and for encouraging them to
explore the Geopark further."
